Second chances

April 17, 2023

This is the second time in my life trying to build credit. The first was needed to get credit to be able to live in this world. Paid cash for everything for twelve years. Wasn’t bad credit history, was NO CREDIT HISTORY. We made it thru all that after slot of disappointment.

Second time…now. Had credit scores of 698-724.

Could get anything we wanted.

During the pandemic, money was extremely thin. We had 6 credit cards. Through that time period, I had to quit my job for a couple of reasons. The main reason being my husband is disabled. August 2020, he had two major surgeries in less than two weeks. Spent 30 days in a hospital away from home.

Needless to say, the credit cards were all maxed out buying food, fuel, paying bills, etc. Now we are doing a debt consolidation. We are two months into a two to four year program. Our credit score has really dropped fast just by missing two payments on each account. I know in the end it will definitely have been all well worth it.. but I hate knowing it is pulling us down. We are trying to better ourselves, so the second chance would be wonderful! However I’m just a bit Leary of getting another card right now while we are making the pmts for the consolidation
